Rose Marie E. Bryan, 91 and a lifelong resident of the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away Sunday morning, February 12, 2023 at Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab, formerly the Jewish Home, Scranton, PA, after a long and courageous battle against Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Carbondale on November 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Marie (O’Brien) O’Byrne.

Rosie was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1950 and was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of Holy Saviour Church, East End, until its closure and merger and currently a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains, and was a lifetime member of the PTA at Mackin Elementary School, East End. Rosie was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and truly cherished her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Bernard, Jr., Joseph, Francis, Paul, and Donald O’Byrne, sisters Agnes, Mary, and Margaret O’Byrne, and Helen Thompson.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, William D. Bryan, Wilkes-Barre, children Nicolle Phillips and her husband Harold, Wilkes-Barre, Shawn Bryan, Duryea, and Rachele Miller and her husband Roy, Magnolia, DE, grandchildren Brandon Miller and his wife Danielle, Jordan Phillips and Emily and Logan Bryan, great-grandson Colton Miller, numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 9:00 am until the time of mass at church. Those attending the funeral mass, please go directly to church Thursday morning and face masks or face coverings are encouraged at the church. A live stream of the funeral mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Church FACEBOOK page. Interment will be held in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
