Rosalyn P. Kopcho, 89 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday morning, October 24, 2020 at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Plains Township, where she had been a resident for the past 8 years.

Born in the Georgetown section of Wilkes-Barre, Roz was the daughter of the late John & Pauline (Bogusky) Woyton.

Roz was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1949 and was employed in the area factories before her marriage. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, North Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Linda Kopcho, brothers John and Joseph Woyton, sisters Mary Kurzeja, Dorothy Sokoloski, Elizabeth Cihon, and Lucille Woyton.

Surviving are her husband Andrew Kopcho, Jr., with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage on July 5, 2020, daughter Judith Kopcho, Wilkes-Barre, son Andrew “Buddy” Kopcho, Shavertown, grandson Jonathan Kopcho and his fiancée Cindy Makuch, and great-granddaughter Kylie Lynn Kopcho, many nieces and nephews.

Roz’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Timber Ridge and Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care given to Roz.

Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 695 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705, with Father Michael Kerestes, Pastor, officiating. Those attending the funeral mass, please go directly to church Wednesday morning. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Dallas. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Masks or face coverings are required at all times at the funeral home and church. Please practice social distancing when paying your respects.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Roz’s memory.
