Obituaries » Robert Phillips December 5, 1946 - October 12, 2021 Service Date: October 16, 2021 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery St. John the Baptist Cemetery Church St. Maria Goretti Church Robert P. “Bubba” Phillips, 74 of Jenkins Township, met our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, face to face on Tuesday morning, October 12, 2021. Born in Laflin, he was the son of the late Joseph and Olga (Mudzik) Phillips. Bubba was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1964, where he excelled in football and baseball. He also attended Wilkes-Barre Business College. He was employed as a laborer and mason in the construction industry, was owner/operator of The Phillips Inn, Parsons, The Wheel, Plains, Ray’s Inn, The Pocono Country Deli, and Yubba’s All American Grill, all of Plains. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ann Giovannini and Patricia Ceprish, brothers Joseph and Thomas Phillips and son-in-law John Hoban. Surviving are his wife of 55 years the former Beverly Tutko, children Robert Phillips and his wife Jacquelyn, Elsmere, Delaware, Danielle Phillips, Westminster, Christopher Phillips and his wife Nora, Lincoln University, PA, and Amy Vincenti and her husband David, Jenkins Township, grandchildren Kelly and Kyle Phillips, Livie and Ella Hoban, and Amanda Rose Phillips, brothers Ronald Phillips and his wife Cecelia, Plains, and David Phillips, Laflin, several nieces and nephews. Bubba’s family would like to thank the staff at Allied Services and the staff on the second floor of Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre location for his wonderful care. Also, his family would like to thank Dr. Biscotti and Dr. DeRojas for his care throughout the past. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 9:30 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA 18702, with Father Seth Wasnock, Pastor, officiating. The Parish Rosary Group will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the Church 30 minutes before the Mass. All are invited to attend. Interment will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Family and friends may call Saturday morning from 8:30 am until the time of Mass at church. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, 39 E.
