Robert G. Podmonski, 79, of Wilkes-Barre, and formerly of Plains Township, passed away Friday morning, January 29, 2016 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late George and Irene (Sia) Podmonski. Bob attended Plains Memorial High School and was an Air Force Veteran. He was employed in the construction field and last as an inspector for Plains Sewer Authority until his retirement.

Bob was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Church Plains and was an avid bowler and fan of all sports.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his grandson Jason Lee.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years the former Verda Nawratowicz, Wilkes-Barre; Son Gary and his partner Clark Hiestand, Daughter, Darlene Lee and her husband Louis, Shickshinny, granddaughter Tanya Lee and her finance, Kyle Hillard, Shickshinny, friend Ronald Thomas, who helped so much with Bob’s care.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 9:00 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc. 20 South Main Street Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road Plains, with Father John C. Lambert, pastor, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
