Winiewicz, 69 of Plains Township, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, February 23, 2022 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Walter & Bertha (Stachurski) Winiewicz. Rich was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1970, and was Owner/President Rich had a special love for his grandchildren and loved attending his grandson Brett’s Baseball games from Little League through High School and followed his college years. After Brett’s graduation from Holy Redeemer High School, Rich would still attend games and became the “Grandfather” of the team and continued to attend games until last season. Rich was also very supportive of his granddaughter Alicia, who was the Apple of His Eye, and was looking forward to her graduation from the University of Scranton this spring. Rich also enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Lori Perry, son Richard Winiewicz, Jr., daughter Lori Kugler and her husband Bruce, grandchildren Alicia and Brett Kugler, twin brother Raymond Winiewicz and his wife Rose, all of Plains, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be missed by his best bud, Carly, who will miss her daily walks with Rich. Funeral will be Monday, February 28, 2022 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705. A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Saints Peter & Paul Church Food Pantry, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705 in Rich’s memory.Richard J. Winiewicz
