Ralph Quadrini, 61 of Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains.

Born on October 5, 1956 in Wilkes-Barre, Ralph was the son of the late Joseph and Constance (Yurchak) Quadrini. He grew up in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre and attended Mackin Elementary School. Ralph was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, class of 1974.

After high school, Ralph worked at the Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course, Bear Creek, as their assistant superintendent, and later for the Lion Brewery, Wilkes-Barre, for 14 years. Everyone loved to work with him, it was an adventure. He began a construction company, L & R Construction and Quadrini Construction and eventually started working for Northeast Windows. In his latest venture, Ralph and his wife, Barbara, began purchasing real estate. His final job was at Airport Sand and Gravel, Wyoming.

Ralph was Vice-President of the Forty Fort Flyers Mini Football Association and coached the C Team, B Team and A Football teams. He also coached and was Vice-President of the board for the Wyoming Valley West Wrestling Club. He loved going to matches and tournaments with his sons Matt and Chris, and still did as of late. He was a recipient of the George Simms Memorial Award (Spartan Wrestling Booster Club Hall of Fame) in 2002 and helped coach elementary wrestling.

Ralph had the biggest heart. After weigh-ins, he would buy the team hot dogs and soda, or whatever they wanted. He would give rides home to the kids that didn’t have one, and would talk to the kids that didn’t have anyone to talk to. He had a soft spot for kids and animals, and loved them all. After his coaching career was over, he would see a former football player or wrestler, and would get a “Hi Coach Ralph” from them. He would say he didn’t get paid for the job coaching, but felt like a million dollars after a hand shake, hug and a Thank You. In addition to his love of coaching, Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Anyone who knows Ralph, knows for sure there was always laughter in the conversation and left with a smile. He was an extraordinary person, one in a million.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Jack Russell, best buddy, Bandit.

Surviving are his loving wife of 33 years Barbara (Puk Turner) Quadrini. Good bye my love, until we meet again, love you more! Sons Matthew Turner and his wife Stephanie, Kingston, and Christopher Quadrini and his wife Tina, West Pittston, his granddaughters who were the loves of his life, Maya Turner, Adrianna and Sydney Quadrini. They would call him Grampy, Sir Talks-A-Lot because of Ralph’s gift of gab. So true. You didn’t talk to Ralph, you listened. Also surviving are his brother Joseph Quadrini and his wife Bertha, Larksville, nieces and nephews, and his other Jack Russell Terrier, Bella, who wouldn’t leave his side for the last 2 weeks.

Ralph’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, and family and friends for all of their help and support throughout the years.

Funeral Services for Ralph will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with Father James Alco, officiating. Family and friends may call Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Ralph’s family requests those attending the viewing and service to dress casual, wear a sports shirt, football jersey, or wrestling coat. Ralph wouldn’t want it any other way.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 or to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
