Peter J. Resilavage

Peter J.  “Slugger” Resilavage, 84, of the Hilldale section of Plains, passed away Thursday morning, May 11, 2023, at the Gardens for Memory Care at Easton, Easton, PA.

Born January 30, 1939, Peter was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Osmanski) Resilavage of the Hilldale section of Plains.

Peter was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1956. After graduating, Peter joined the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged after four years of service. Once back from the Air Force, he worked at Carter Rubber Shoe Factory until his retirement.

Peter loved hunting and fishing with his friends and especially with his son, Joseph and son-in-law Bill and loved filling his bucket with Popinki Mushrooms.  He also enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and Sunday drives; which he took with them and his wife Elizabeth.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Barron, and great aunt, Josie Mudzik.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, Hilldale; daughter Denise Spagnola and her husband, Bill, Plains; son Joseph Resilavage, Pittston Twp., his granddaughters Alexis Spagnola, Plains; Olivia Spagnola and her significant other, Jack Cleary, Long Island; and Samantha Rugletic and her husband, Josh; Dupont.

Peter’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Gardens for Memory Care at Easton for their care of Peter over the last few years.

According to Peter’s wishes, funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
