Paul C. Gosiewski, of Plains, ascended to heaven on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas surrounded by his family.

Paul was born April 21, 1939 in Plains, and he was the son of the late Francis B. Gosiewski and Mary Hrabousky. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1957 and furthered his career with the Department of Air Force in Nevada for 11 years. On one of his overseas deployments to Australia, he met Michelle — the love of his life, his bride, and the mother to their four amazing children. Paul and Michelle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 21, 2020. After retiring from Owens-Illinois’s Techneglas, with 30 years of hard work behind him, he dedicated his retirement days attending Saints Peter & Paul Church services, enjoying the challenge of daily crossword puzzles, being a grandpa for his girls, hunting, and spending his time as an avid reloader.  He was a member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon, Post 558 and was a member of the Funeral Honor Guard.

Paul will best be remembered for his detailed stories of his worldly travel adventures, his unique laughter, his sense of humor, and for his famous one-liners. He would excel in telling hilarious stories at family dinners full of homemade Polish foods. His most treasured memories were spending time with his fellow Marines from the Wyoming Valley and the White Haven Detachments and competing in rifle and pistol shooting events throughout Pennsylvania. He will be remembered as a kind, generous, loyal, and an especially proud Marine —Semper Fi.

Paul is preceded in death by his loving parents; infant sister, Lorraine Gosiewski; brother, Frank Gosiewski; sister, Marie Brunetti.

He is survived by his devoted wife Michelle, their four children and four granddaughters; son, Michael and his wife Eleanor; daughter, Alicia and her husband Edward; daughter, Jennifer and her husband Stephen; daughter, Andrea; granddaughter, Clarissa and her husband Michael; granddaughter, Sarah; granddaughter, Megan; granddaughter, Emily; he is also survived by an extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to sincerely thank the first responders from Woodson County, Texas and Throckmorton County, Texas. The family would also like to thank all of the doctors and nursing staff at the Memorial Hospital in Throckmorton, Texas and at the United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. Your kindness and professionalism that you blessed our family with will always be forever in our hearts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA  18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating.  Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps and Paul’s comrades of the Plains American Legion Funeral Honor Guard.  Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
