Patrick R. O’Donnell, 62 of Wilkes-Barre died Tuesday morning, December 30, 2014 in the Hospice Inpatient Unit at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains, PA.

Born in Miners Mills he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Kathryn (Mantush)
O’ Donnell.

Patrick was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1970, and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1971 to 1974 with the Military Police.

Patrick was employed by Wilkes University in the security department, for WalMart in the maintenance department, and last for Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains, in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. Benedicts Parish, Parsons.

In addition to his mother and father Patrick was preceded in death by his brother Thomas and sister Theresa Meinel.

Surviving are his brothers; Joseph O’Donnell, Exeter, William O’Donnell and his Wife Nancy and James O’Donnell and his wife Maryann, all of Wilkes-Barre, sisters; Kitty Pascucci, Plains, Ann Piccolo and her husband Dr. Anthony Piccolo, York, Pa., Mary Solt and her husband Kevin Solt, Egg Harbor, New Jersey, nephews and nieces.

Funeral will be held Saturday, January 3,2015 at 9am from the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc. 20 South Main Street Plains with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Benedicts Parish, St. Dominic’s Church 155 Austin Avenue Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705 with Father Joseph A. Kearney, pastor, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
