Nancy Mae Thomas Featherstone, of Dallas, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 26, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 81.

Born and raised in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, she is the daughter of the late Delwyn R. and Susan Thomas.

Nancy was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre. She was an active parishioner of St. Dominic’s of Parsons for more than 7 decades and served as a CCD teacher there for many years. While she worked as a bookkeeper, her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

She was married to Edward Joseph Featherstone for 57 blissful years and enjoyed reading, baking and vacationing on Long Beach Island.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Ebby and her grandson Robert.

Nancy is survived by her husband Edward, her four sons Jim, Mark (Peggy), Bob (Teresa) and Ned, and her grandchildren Maggie, Tom, Mark, John, Anna, Michael, Danny, Keriann and Andrew, her brother Del and wife Euella and family and her loving caretakers.

Funeral will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 9:15 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Therese’s Church 64 Davis Street Shavertown, PA 18708 with Father James J. Paisley, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends and family may call Friday evening, March 27, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
