On Friday January 30, 2015 Mildred entered eternal rest where she was reunited with her son Allan after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on Nov. 21, 1932 in the Westminster section of Jenkins Twp., she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Humko) Piernock.  She was a graduate of Jenkins Twp. High School and was employed by Pittston Apparel and by the Skyliner Diner prior to her retirement.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son Allan, as well as a sister Eleanor Mioskie.

Mildred is survived by her husband of 62 years Andrew, daughter Carolyn Healey and her husband Tom, Hamburg, Pa, Sons Andrew and his wife Susan of Reading, PA and Ronald and his wife Mary Rose of Jenkins Twp., daughter in law Susan Karaffa of Scranton PA, sister Dolores Valvonis and her husband Joseph, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mildred was best known as Gram to her beloved grandchildren, Allan, Jr. and Fiancée Danielle, Amanda and husband Jef, Tina and boyfriend Kyle, Andrew David and girlfriend Courtney, Erika and Fiancé Derek, Christopher and girlfriend Stacy. Mildred loved nothing more than her family coming together and enjoying each other’s company and love, especially around the holidays.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Tricarico, the Doctors and staff of the Henry Cancer Center at Geisinger -Wyoming Valley and the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate care while Millie was ill.

Funeral Services for Mildred will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA  18705 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church 42 Redwood Drive  Laflin, PA  18702.  The Parish Rosary Group will recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the Church 30 minutes before the Funeral Mass. All are invited to attend. Private interment will be held at Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.

Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of her life on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
