Michael A. Taft, 89, of Plains Township, passed away Thursday Morning, November 20, 2014, at Birchwood Rehabilitation and Nursing, Nanticoke.

Born in Swoyersville, he was the son of the late William and Nellie (Ondish) Taft.

Michael was a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II and was self employed in the Plaster and Stucco business for forty years until his retirement. He was a former member of St. Francis Church now St.Benedict’s Parish.

He was preceded in death by his Wife the former Arlene Sakavage on October 21, 2007 and brother his William Taft.

Surviving are his daughters Linda Rabbas, Nanticoke and Lois Rabbas and her husband Daniel, Hanover Township, Five grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Birchwood Rehabilitation and Nursing for their kindness and exceptional care of their Dad and Pop for the past 17 months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 9:30 am in St. Benedict’s Parish, St. Dominick’s Church, 155 Austin Avenue, Parsons, with Father Joseph Kearney, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Plains Township. There will be no calling hours.
