Maryann J. McGroarty

Maryann J. McGroarty, 67 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday morning, May 3, 2023 at Allied Service Hospice, Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Born in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Mary (Evans) McGroarty.

Maryann was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1973, and attended nursing school.  She was employed as a nurse’s aide and at Party Time Manufacturing, Pittston, until her retirement.  Maryann was also very active in the Girl Scouts of America for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Jacqueline Hergan.

Surviving are her daughter Jennifer Farrell, Wilkes-Barre, grandchildren Damian Farrell and his girlfriend Nataliya Scarantino, Philadelphia, Kalli Farrell and Kieran Farrell, both of Wilkes-Barre, brother John McGroarty and his wife Donna, and nephew John McGroarty, IV, all of Mountain Top.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
