Mary Theresa Curtin, 78, of Pittston, passed away Monday evening, March 7, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Fosko Madden.

Mary Theresa was a graduate of Jenkins Twp. High School, Class of 1960, and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mary Theresa was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston, and the Red Hat Ladies Society. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James P. Curtin, on Feb. 12, 2022; and her brother, William T. Madden, on April 12, 1989.

Surviving are her daughters, Colleen Petroski and her husband, Michael, Kingston; Kelly Harrington and her husband, Eugene, Ellicott City, Md.; and Mary Saha and her husband, Pranav, Baltimore, Md.; twin grandsons, Logan and Quinn Harrington; sister-in-law, Barbara Madden, San Mateo, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday from Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 South Main St., Plains Twp., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John The Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston. Interment will be held in the Parish Cemetery, Pittston. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
