Mary Lou Owen, 77 of Plains Township, passed away Thursday morning, July 14, 2022 at The Gardens at East Mountain, Plains.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. Ogborn and Dora (Piccotti) Szafran and step-father Walter (Specks) Szafran.

Mary Lou was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1963, and was employed as a secretary in the medical billing department at the VA Medical Center, Plains. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains, and currently a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas P. Owen on January 15, 1998 and her sister Sharon Ogborn on September 15, 2021.

Surviving are her daughter Dawn Raggi and her husband John, Hunlock Creek, son Michael “Bubba” Grillini, grandson John Raggi and his wife Stephanie and granddaughter Montana Raggi and her fiancé Ian Evans, step-sons Thomas Owen, Jr. and his wife Jaynie, and Kevin Owen and his wife Summer, all of Louisiana, many good friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, with Father John C. Lambert, her Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains.

Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:00 till 10:00 am at the funeral home.
