Mary E. Schartzer, 74, of Nanticoke, passed away March 4, 2017 at Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke.

Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie (Rhodes) Bomboy.

Mary was a graduate of Forty Fort High School and was employed as a Cashier for Weis Market, Nanticoke until her retirement. Mary was a former member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke and its Altar and Rosary society and currently a member of St Faustina Parish, Nanticoke. Mary was past vice-president of Oplinger Towers Residents Council.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband James P. Schartzer and her Step-Father George Bullock.

Surviving are her Children, Anne Marie Bevan and her husband Brian, Mary Louise Schartzer and Jim Schartzer all of Nanticoke, Grandchildren, Jeff, Brian, and Jacob Bevan, Great-Grandson Dylan Bevan; Brother Edward Bomboy, Stroudsburg, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday March 25, 2017 at 10 am in St. Faustina Church, 520 South Hanover Street, Nanticoke.

Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Nanticoke

Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Church Saturday Morning.

Arrangements by the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and donations if desired be made to Bloomsburg University Foundation, 50 E. Main Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 in Mary’s memory.

A special thank you to the staff of Birchwood Nursing Center, (Heather, Jordan and Brenda) and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for making Mary’s last days peaceful.
