Mary E. Cramer, 66 of Swoyersville, passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2017 at Regional Hospital, Scranton after a lengthy illness with her daughter by her side.

Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Albert & Anna (Slipetz) Adamchik.

Mary was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School and was a caregiver and homemaker to her family and put the needs of others above her own. Mary’s greatest love of her life were her grandchildren who called her “Babo”. She enjoyed taking summer trips to Knoebels Grove with her grandchildren, family cookouts, gatherings and attending their sporting events or anything they were involved in. She was an avid bowler, a wonderful cook, and held family and holiday traditions close to her heart. She loved to polka dance, and would frequently attend many dinner dances with friends. She was the life of the party, and the glue to the family. She was the “go to” for many, to confide in, lean on, or ask for advice, as she was a great listener, and wise beyond words. She was also known for her beloved gift of gab. No matter if it was sitting around the kitchen table, gathering at a family function, or chit-chatting on the phone, she would, no doubt, have a family story or two from way-back-when to tie into every situation. Albeit expected, as her stories were told many a time over, her old-school reminiscing is one of the many facets of her wonderful character that we will all miss dearly. Mary was proud of her Ukrainian and Slovak heritage, as well as keeping up the ethnic family traditions with her delicious cooking, and the infamous homemade pierogi making project each year. She was a member of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Edwardsville, where she sang in the choir for many years.

She was preceded in death by her sister Charmayne Wojciechowski.

Surviving are her daughter Nadia Usher and her husband Jerry, Plains, her grandchildren who she loved dearly, Kiersten, Lucas, and Liam Usher, sister Alberta Gabel, Perkasie, PA, Carol Monko and her husband Paul, West Wyoming, and Ruth Ann Bruno and her husband Stanley, North Carolina, brothers Richard Adamchik and his wife Arlene, Swoyersville, Albert Adamchik and his wife Betty, Larksville, and Michael Adamchik and his wife Karen, Kingston, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:15 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Funeral of Divine Liturgy at 11:00 am in St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 70 Zerby Avenue, Edwardsville, PA 18704, with Father Paul Wolensky, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will be held in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Family and friends may call Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Panakhyda will be held at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.donatenow.heart.org or to St. Vladimir’s Mortgage Fund, 70 Zerby Avenue, Edwardsville, PA 18704 in Mary’s memory.
