Obituaries » Mary Ann Pieck (Ziolo) July 28, 1942 - July 28, 2024 Service Date: August 9, 2024 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Mount Olivet Cemetery Church Saints Peter and Paul Church Mary Ann Pieck, a lifelong resident of Plains Township, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 28, 2024, her 82nd Birthday, at her home. Born on July 28, 1942 in in the same home she lived her entire life, she was the daughter of the late William and Ann (Szczepaniak) Ziolo. Mary Ann attended Saints Peter & Paul School, Plains, and was employed as a factory worker at the American Silk Mill, Hudson. Mary Ann cherished her time with friends and family, finding joy in their company. She had a special fondness for polka music, which brought her immense happiness throughout her life. She especially enjoyed “treating” her daughters to hours of polkas, a true testament to her unique sense of humor and love for the music. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph J. Zakeravich on June 9, 1979, her second husband Stephen Pieck on December 7, 2014, and her sister Jane Novak Kishel. Surviving are her daughters Ann Marie Krukowski and her husband Raymond, Nanticoke, and Susan Meehan and her husband Paul, Wilkes-Barre, grandchildren Justin Krukowski, Michael Krukowski, Paul Meehan, Jr., and Sam Meehan. Mary Ann’s daughters would like to thank the nurses and staff from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the wonderful care and compassion given to their mother. They also wish to express their sincere gratitude to all of her personal aides from America’s Home Health agency, particularly Liam “Leo” and Dasline, whose dedicated support, help, and love meant the world to Mary Ann and her family. She especially cherished her time with Liam who had been by her side for several months and long hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A live stream of the funeral mass will be on the parish FACEBOOK page. Inurnment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming.
