Marie A. Rodano, 83 of Plains Township, passed away Monday morning, April 9, 2018 at River Street Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre, after a courageous 15 years battle against Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Stella) Mazzanti.

Marie was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School and was self-employed as a beautician and owned her own beauty shop, Marie Rodano’s, in Forty Fort.  Marie also worked with her sons in the family business, RODANO’S, in Wilkes-Barre.  Marie was a devoted mother to her 3 sons and took great pleasure in having Sunday pasta dinner with her family and friends.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains, until its closure and merger with Saints Peter & Paul Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Rodano in 1966, and her sister Eileen Brogna.

Surviving are her sons Joseph Rodano and his wife Ann Marie, Plains, Frank Rodano, Kingston, and David Rodano, Plains, grandchildren Amy Lynn Crossin and her husband Francis, Christina Mashinski and her husband Joseph, Rocco Rodano, Joey Rodano, and Stephanie Ference and her husband Stephen, great-grandchildren Avery and Cora Crossin, and Rafael Ference, sister Rosalie Kozloski and her husband Bob, Chattanooga, TN, nieces and nephews.

Marie’s family would like to thank the staff at River Street Manor for the wonderful care and compassion given to Marie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA  18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating.  Those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to church Saturday morning.  Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements by the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
