Marianne M. Kress

Marianne M. Kress, 79 of the Hudson section of Plains Township, passed away Sunday morning, January 23, 2022 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in the Shanty Town section of Jenkins Township, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Marykwas) Wojcik.

Marianne was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School, Class of 1960, was a homemaker and worked at WVIA-TV, Old Boston. She was a member of The Polish Club, The Red Hats Society, and The Orchid Club.

She was preceded in death by her sister Theresa Wojcik.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, James P. Kress, Hudson, sons James G. Kress and his partner Melissa Mahoney, Hunlock Creek, and Brian Kress, Houston, TX, brothers Frank and John Wojcik, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Private inurnment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at church.
