Lottie Ann “Honey” Serafin, 89 of Plains Township, passed away Tuesday morning, December 20, 2016 at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Plains.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Kontorek) Serafin.

Honey was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed in the area factories. She was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the Women’s Army Corps from 1951 to 1954, attaining the rank of Corporal. Upon her honorable discharge from the Army, Honey settled in Philadelphia and was employed there for several years. Upon her relocation to Plains Township, she was employed by United Penn Bank, Wilkes-Barre as a clerk until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her sister Helen.

Surviving are her cousins Ann Paciga, Wilkes-Barre, Thomas Paciga and his wife Melissa, Nicholson, and Michael Paciga and his wife Sara, Westerly, Rhode Island, Julia, Helena, Nathan, and Jacob Paciga, and nephews.

Honey’s family would like to thank the staff at Timber Ridge for the wonderful care Honey received while a resident there.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 9:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Plains. Friends and family may call Tuesday morning from 8:00 am till 9:00 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, in Honey’s memory.
