Lois Ann Barber, 80 of Jenkins Township, passed away Friday evening, February 19, 2016 at the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Twp., where she had been a resident since 2007.

Born in Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Alice L. (Baer) barber.

Lois was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, Ridley Park, PA, and Clarion University, earning her Master’s Degree in Education. She was employed as a Special Education Teacher for over 35 years, until her retirement.

While living in Bedford, PA, she was a volunteer a chaplain at Bedford Hospital. Lois also played piano at various United Methodist Churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Otto Tinkey, her grandson martin Zane Setto, and her brother Marvin Barber.

Surviving are her daughters Carla Scofield and her husband John, Clarks Summit, Judy Shaffer and her husband Ron, Lenhartsville, PA, Rebecca Wilson and her husband rev. Donald Wilson, Washington, D.C., and her son Douglas Zane Tinkey and his wife Julie, Linglestown, PA, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral Services for Lois will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705, with Rev. Betty Riley, officiating. Interment will be held in Carverton Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
