Ling F. Rhodes, 71 of Bear Creek Township, passed away Monday evening, February 21, 2022 at her home with her husband Chet at her side.

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Ling met her future husband, U.S. Army Special Forces Officer, Charles Chester Rhodes, in 1969. Upon Chet’s Honorable Discharge from active duty, Ling joined him in America, earning her U.S. Citizenship after 5 years of studying and testing. Chet and Ling called Bear Creek Township home since 1999.

Ling was active in real estate, especially buying and selling. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Church, Parsons, was an avid and wonderful cook and loved to entertain. She was also an incredible golfer and was a member of the Wyoming Valley Country Club Women’s Golf Association, the Par-Tee Ladies Golf League and the Wilkes-Barre Municipal Ladies Golf League.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Chet Rhodes, daughter Melissa Bower, granddaughter Cassidy Rhodes, 1 brother and 3 sisters, nieces and nephews, living in Taiwan, and Good Friends and Caregivers.

Funeral Services for Ling will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, with Deacon Donald Crane, officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
