Larry P. Dezinski, 76, of Haines City Florida, and formerly of Plains Township, Pa., passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on August 14, 2014 at his home.

Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Peter & Tilda (Zurla) Dezinski.

Larry was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School class of 1956 and attended Luzerne County Community College, majoring in electronics. He was employed for Air Products of Hanover Township for 25 years until his retirement.

Larry served his country as a member of the National Guard for 12 years. He also served his community as a Scout Master in Plains Township. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  His true passion was to travel.  He and his wife crossed the United States in their travel home on numerous occasions.  In December 2013, Larry and his wife Lorraine were honored with their 100th cruise on the Carnival Cruise Line.  They had amassed a total of 185 cruises since 1988.  As a craftsman and artisan, he would design and create computer generated vinyl signs for his community and jewelry from precious pieces he would acquire during their travels.

Surviving are his Wife of 25 years the former Lorraine Bowanko, Florida,  Sister, Joanne (Marko) Thomas, Florida; Daughter, Jean Patla, Tampa, Florida; Sons, Larry and Peter Dezinski, Exeter; Michael Dezinski, Plymouth, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Larry has extended family in Jim and Donna Martin of Forty Fort, Jimmy T. Martin and Kaitlyn Fitzgerald.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday September 27, at the Resurrection of the Lord Polish National Catholic Church, Zerby Avenue, Edwardsville at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.

Family and friends may call Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc.  20 South Main Street, Plains.

In lieu of flowers donations if desired may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale Florida, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale Fla. 33823.
