Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul..”Matthew 11:28-29 Truly gentle and humble in heart, Jule Hale Novakoski found eternal rest for her soul when she died peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Marilyn Novak, Kingston. Jule was born on November 6, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Cunningham Hale and resided in Miners Mills for most of her life. She was a lifetime member of Blessed Sacrament Parish (St. Benedict Parish). Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 21 years by Luzerne County in the voter registration department. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; beloved daughter, Jule Morse; cherished granddaughter, Maria Griffith, sister Marie Zimmerman; brother Joseph Hale. She is survived by her daughters Marilyn Novak and her partner, Al Mangione, Kingston, Joan Griffith and her husband, Richard, Montrose, son Edward, Wilkes-Barre, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. Throughout her life, Jule was a loving, compassionate person who made a positive impact on the lives of many people, both family and friends. She was loyal, tolerant, infinitely patient, and kindness was second nature to her. She looked for, usually found and then nourished the goodness in people. Simply by the example of her own behavior, she made an enduring impression on those around her, an impression of kindness, gentleness, and love. Jule’s family wished to sincerely thank her team of dedicated caregivers from the Hospice of the Sacred Heart who attended to her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs for more than two years. Their calming presence and the exceptional care they provided allowed Jule the dignity to peacefully depart from this earthly world in the warmth, comfort, and security of her own room with those she loved by her side. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 11:00 at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705. Family and friends may call at the funeral from 10:00 am until the start of the service. Private interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp., at the convenience of the family.
