Joyce M. Pavlick, 70 of the Port Griffith section of Pittston, passed away Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Kingston Health Care Center, Kingston, PA.

Born on April 10, 1952 in Port Griffith, PA, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Rose (Lapsansky) Pavlick.

Joyce was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston, Class of 1970, and College Misericordia, Dallas, earning her bachelor’s degree in education. She was employed as an elementary school teacher for the Pittston Area School District until her retirement.

Joyce was an avid gardener who loved to spend time in her yard and loved to watch the sunset.

Surviving are her companion of 28 years, John F. Grimes, II, Port Griffith, sisters Patricia Herrmann and her husband Richard, North Carolina, and Jacqueline Pavlick, Port Griffith, nephews Keith Herrmann, Colorado, and Jeffrey Herrmann, New Jersey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA, 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Inurnment will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 9:00 am until the time of mass at church.
