Josephine (Lispi) “Pippy” Kleckner of Plains Twp., passed away in her sleep on Tuesday at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, where she resided for the past 3 years.

Born in Yatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sabatina (LaVerde) Lispi.  At a young age, she moved to Plains and was raised by the late Frank and Lillian (Lispi) Cardoni. She attended Jenkins Twp. schools and graduated from Wyoming Seminary Deans School of Business and Wilkes- Barre Business College.

During WW II, she was employed by the Office of Price Administration and later as executive assistant   of the United Mine Workers of America.  In 1953 she met and married her late husband, Paul Kleckner of Tamaqua, a member of the Pennsylvania State Police.  After raising her children, she went to work for her family at Lispi Brothers. She was involved in several other family enterprises. Prior to her retirement, she managed Lispi Lanes.

She was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish in Pittston, Pennsylvania State Police Women’s Auxiliary, Irem Temple Steward Ladies, and Plains Senior Citizens.

In addition to her husband Paul, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert, David, Eugene and Joseph Lispi all of Yatesville, Sister, Eleanor Torony, Plains.

She is survived by her family, Judy and Bill Mullin, Christina Kleckner, and her most cherished grandchildren, William Paul and Christina Lilly Mullin, Plains, many nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Little Flower Manor, but most of all, the staff of the 3rd floor.  They treated “Pippy” with love and compassion as if she was their Mother.  And also for the never ending support and friendship given to the family during difficult times.
