Josephine A. Haczewski, 88 of Plains, Twp., passed away Saturday morning, April 2, 2016 at Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Home, Hanover, PA, where she had been a resident for the past 3 years.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Cataldo & Catherine (Anzalone) Ferrara.

Josephine was a graduate of Pittston High School, and was a homemaker all of her life. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains, until its merger with SS. Peter & Paul Church in 2010. She and her late husband Walter loved to go on their “Polka Excursions” for days at a time.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walter F. Haczewski on April 8, 2013, and her sister Sarah Mickey.

Surviving are her sons John Haczewski and his wife Mary Jo, Littlestown, PA, Frank Haczewski and his wife Suzanne, Kalispell, MT, Joseph Haczewski and his wife Donna, Gettysburg, PA and Walter Haczewski and his wife Janet, Oxford, PA, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, Sisters Marion
Ginochetti, Pittston, and Katie LoCicero, Henderson, NV, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains.

Friends and family may call Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701-1309 in Josephine’s memory.
