VETCHNIYA POMYAT. MEMORY ETERNAL. give rest to the soul JOSEPH, in a place of light, a place of green pastures, in a place of rest, where sorrow and sighing are fled away. ВЕЧНАЯ ПАМЯТЬ. дает покоя душам Твоих усопших рабов, в месте света, место зеленых пастбищ, в место отдыха, откуда все болезни, печали и воздыхания побежали. wanessa and the mcguire and sot families: MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES, i was shocked and saddened when i received a text from my baby sister of the death of my childhood friend. you just don't think of your friends dying on you. joe and i go back about 64 years - we were in the same cub scout den/pack and boy scout troop. our fathers were good friends and founding members of fathers club 100. you cannot the number of days i spent playing in joe's back yard nor count the number of meals his grandmother marge made me eat at their house. she made the best potatoes - mashed, and other wise - but then again she was irish. i remember the beautiful japanese sword that his father brought bck from the pacific after WW II. it was always hidden away in rafters in the basement. or hanging out at steve's on north main st, playing pinball. PITCH was the money card gaame played at the house. sadly, after 8th grade we went separate ways, i went to prep school in kingston, joe went to sacred heart. different colleges and careers in different states/countries, separated us even farther. now in older age, the passing of good friends reminds us what has been missed in our lives. being the oldest of this group, i can well understand your loss but i can tell you that over time the pain will decease and the memories of the good times will increase as we say in russian church - VETCHNIYA POMYAT. MEMORY ETERNAL.

I'm so sorry to read of Joe's passing. I spent many times hanging out in the basement when we were teenagers. He did me a favor once in an emergency. I will never forget his kindness.
