Joseph Rogan, 88, of Florida and Laflin, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at home with his loving family and loving companion by his side. Family meant everything to Joseph. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Joseph was a true gentleman who will be missed by all.
He was born in Bear Creek on August 21, 1925 to Edward and Helen Kelly Rogan. He graduated from Coughlin High School and Wilkes College. In 1950, he married Helen P. Kelly. They were blessed with a joyful marriage and six children.

Joseph, along with his brother, Edward, established E.J. Rogan and Sons, Inc., a mechanical contracting business.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, brothers, Edward and Paul; sisters Dorothy Kittrick and Mae Slaton; and grandson, Joseph Rogan.

Joseph is survived by his loving companion Cassie Jahn and six children: Kathy, and husband Harry Donnini; Mary and husband Jon Hurst; Joseph and wife Theresa; Ann Rogan; Thomas Rogan and companion Lyn Brezna; and Kelly Rogan. Grandchildren include:  Dylan and Sean Donnini; Jonathan, Katie and Kelly Hurst; Colleen Connor, Amy, Erin and Joseph Rogan; Kyle Zumchak; and Caitlin and Thomas Rogan. Joseph’s great grandchildren include: Kyleigh and Jeremy Rice; Kaylee and Emma Connor; Celia and Sadie Balut; and Mabel Donnini. He is also survived by his brother, Patrick Rogan and wife Joan; sisters, Ann Kline, Betsy Schwingen, Ell Hufnagel and husband Jim, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July  26, 2014, at 9:30 am in St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, with Monsignor Neil Van Loon, Pastor, officiating, assisted by Father John J. Ryan. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.  Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.  Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. –8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc. 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Joseph P. Rogan Memorial Scholarship Fund C/O King’s College 133 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA  18702.
