Joseph P. Rice, 66 of Shavertown, passed away Wednesday evening, April 7, 2021 at Residential Hospice, Wilkes-Barre, 2 months after the passing of his dear wife, Kathy.

Born in Ashley, Joe was the son of the late William and Petronella (Rutchauskas) Rice.

Joe attended Ashley schools and was employed at William W. Davis Painters, Wilkes-Barre, as a Union Painter. He was a member of The Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 2. Joe also restored and collected classic cars through his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, the former Kathleen Evans on February 4, 2021, sisters Stella Lununziata, Patsy Miers, and Maryann Reilly.

Surviving are his daughter Kathy Wojtash and her husband Frank, grandsons Frank and Zachary Wojtash, all of Plains, brother William Rice and his wife Casey, Freeland, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705
