Joseph “Moe” Mocion, 89 of Plains Township, passed away Monday afternoon, July 17, 2017 at his home.

Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Stanley & Mary (Podlasek) Mocion.

Joe was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, class of 1946, and was a U.S. Merchant Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Foster Wheeler, Mountain Top, as an electrician and welder for 25 years. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains.

He and his wife the former Dolores Stachurski, would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on July 31, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his sister Henrietta Capitano.

Surviving in addition to his wife Dolores are his son Joseph Mocion and his wife Lynnmarie, Laflin, daughters Diane Rubin and her husband Jonathan, Cape Cod, MA, and Renee Acle and her husband Dr. Alex Acle, Benton, grandchildren Alyssa, Christie, and Michael Mocion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Private interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Plains. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at Saints Peter & Paul Church.
