Joseph Matthew Januszko, 85, of Plains passed in his sleep on Sunday morning, January 21, 2018.

Joseph was born in Plains, PA on February 19, 1932 to Joseph and Mary (Marchlinski) Januszko. After graduating from Plains Memorial High School, he joined the United States Air Force and served as a communications specialist in the Korean War. He worked for Sikorski Helicopter and Air Products until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian (Ceccoli) Januszko, sisters Mary Lou Bomber, Ceil Sovyrda, and Theresa Washinski.

He is survived by his daughters Judy Milewski and her husband Fran, Warminster, PA, and Mary Jo Albertelli and her husband Lou, Plains, and his son Gary Januszko and his wife Michelle, Plains, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters Irene Hinko, and Dolores McDermott Holmes, both of Plains, and Etta Benkelmann and her husband Gene, West Milford, NJ, brother-in-law Jerry Ceccoli and his wife Ann, Swoyersville, sister-in-law Caroline Ceccoli, Indiana, PA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hudson.

Friends may pay their respects to Joe’s family at Saints Peter & Paul Church Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research 469 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10018 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 in his memory.
