Shubzda, 86 of Plains Township, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 10, 2021 at the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township. Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Anthony and Agnes (Kohanowski) Shubzda. Joe was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Airman 2nd Class. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Renda, Nena, and Frain, New Jersey, until his retirement. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, and the Polish American Veterans, both of Plains. He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, the former Regina Krawetz on November 3, 1989. Surviving are his daughter Sandra Ercolani and her husband Mario, Plains, brothers Anthony Shubzda and his wife Helen, Jenkins Township, and Stanley Shubzda, Wilkes-Barre, sisters Sophie Pieri and her husband Joseph, West Wyoming, Mary Jones, West Palm Beach, FLA, and Tina Goskowski, NY, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Plains. Friends and family are invited to a walk through visitation from 9:00 am until the time of Mass Monday morning at Saints Peter & Paul Church. Due to the ongoing pandemic, restrictions have been put in place. Those attending the visitation, we ask that you be brief when paying your respects, please follow the practice of social distancing, and masks are required at all times at the church.
