Obituaries » Joseph J. Komensky October 19, 1941 - March 26, 2015 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Joseph J. Komensky, 73 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday morning, March 26 2015 at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Duryea, he was the son of Marie (Salansky) Komensky of Clarks Summit, and the late Joseph W. Komensky. Joseph was a graduate of Duryea High School, class of 1959, and was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot until his retirement. He resided for many years in Duryea and later Plains, Twp. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, V. James and Lorraine Sabatini. Surviving in addition to his mother Marie, and his wife of 46 years, the former Carol Sabatini, daughter Jacinta Vrabel and her husband Stephen, Philadelphia, son Joseph Komensky and his wife Lora, Dublin, California, grandson Joshua, Komensky, Sister Mary Jo Schmaltz and her husband Harry, Waverly, numerous aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Little Flower Manor and St. Therese’s Residence for their professional and loving care of Joseph. He truly was in kind and compassionate hands. In honor of Josephs’ wisher, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705.Joseph J. Komensky
