Obituaries » Joseph J. Chismar December 11, 2014 Joseph J. Chismar, 77, of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday morning, December 11, 2014 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Township. Joseph was born in Miners Mills the son of the late George and Anna (Petro) Chismar. He attended James M. Coughlin High School and was a Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre. Joe was employed for InterMetro Industries Corporation as a Forman until his retirement; and was a member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon Post 558 and the United Steel Workers Union, Local 5652. He was preceded in death by his Brother Michael Chismar. Surviving are his Wife of 56 years the former Joan Kasaba, Son Joseph Jr. and his Wife Michelle, Plains, Daughter, Rosalie Chismar , at home, Grandchildren Rachel and Richard Hine and Alexa and Dylan Chismar; Sister Mary Ann Drumtra and Husband Larry, New Port News, Virginia; several Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. Funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains with Office of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Mary’s Byzantine Church Wilkes-Barre, with Father James Hayer, Pastor, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in the parish cemetery, Dallas. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 at the Funeral Home.Joseph J. Chismar
