Pilarcik, Jr., 71 of the Hilldale section of Plains, passed away Monday morning November 21, 2022 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA with his family by his side. Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Joseph B. and Rose (Wender) Pilarcik, Sr. Joe was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, Class of 1969 and attended King’s College. He was employed as a warehouse manager at Nachlis Furniture, Plains, and later at Penn Furniture, Scranton, until his retirement. Joe was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains, where he served as an Eucharistic Minister and distributed Holy Communion to the homebound of the parish, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 401. Joe was an avid gardener and took great pride in his garden, and had a great love and devotion to his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Terrance Pilarcik. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Mary Mirigliani, Plains, sons Justin Pilarcik and his wife Carolyn, Bala Cynwyd, PA, and Joseph Pilarcik and his girlfriend Jennifer Washicosky, Wyoming, granddaughters Jade, Eleanor, and Audrey Pilarcik, 1 nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 9:30 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Those attending the funeral mass, please go directly to church Saturday morning. A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Private family inurnment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
