Grinzi, 67 of Plains Township, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 25, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains. Born in West Wyoming, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Lillian (Richardson) Grinzi. Joe was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class of 1968, and attended the Pennsylvania State University, Wilkes-Barre Campus. Joe was an avid musician and drummer and was co-owner of National Music Center, Wilkes-Barre, until his retirement. Joe’s love of music led him to give senior citizens organ lessons. Joe would write his own musical arrangements to accommodate his student’s skill level. Surviving are his wife of 41 years the former Mary E. Kuznieski, daughter Dana Pugliese and her husband Joseph, Scranton, sister Sandra Grinzi, Groton, CT, and step-father Carl Dittfield, Moosic. Joe’s family would like to offer a special Thank You to Dr. Charles Manganiello for his years of friendship and care and to the staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley M.S. ICU for their special care of Joe. Funeral will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA, with Father James J. Walsh, Pastor, officiating. The Parish Rosary Group will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the Church 30 minutes before the Funeral Mass. All are invited to attend. Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 63 North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 in Joe’s memory. Joseph A. Grinzi
