Jonathan Mark Hurst Sr., 61, of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015 at Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre, with his family by his side.

Jonathan was born on April 27, 1954 to the late Richard and Anna (Fugmann) Hurst of Clarks Summit, PA. He attended Abington Heights High School and graduated with the class of 1972.

Jon was a talented craftsman and carpenter who was a perfectionist in his trade. He began his career at a young age and devoted his love and creativity to his work. Comfort can be found in knowing that he is outlived by his construction endeavors. Of all his great works of art, he was most proud of his family.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Rogan, Tunkhannock, PA; son, Jonathan, Rochester, NY; daughters, Katie, Philadelphia; Kelly, Danville; sister Constance Valk, Rochester, NY; brother David Hurst and his wife Lynn, Forty Fort, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Jon’s Life on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to Celtic Hospice 601 Wyoming Avenue Kingston, PA 18704 in Jon’s memory.
