Obituaries » John M. Glazenski May 9, 2014 John Michael Glazenski, 71 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Plains, PA on August 8, 1942 he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Scone) Glazenski. He was educated in Plains Township schools. John was employed for many years as a custodian at Wilkes Barre Area School District until his retirement. He was a member of St Joseph’s Church in Hudson until its closing. John served his church as a Eucharistic minister and had great faith in God. John, affectionately known by his family and friends as Yash, embraced his Polish heritage. He enjoyed dancing to the polkas, eating all the ethnic foods, and celebrating the Polish traditions during the holiday seasons. For his past time, he enjoyed going on cruises and trips to the beach. John especially enjoyed the warm months and was often seen outside planting flowers, having a coffee, and reading the newspaper on his patio. John had the biggest heart when it came to everyone else and always put himself second. He was the first one to come to anyone’s aide and lend a helping hand. John was preceded in death by his sisters, Stella Piontek, Theresa Rinehimer, Pearl Woloski, Mary Mido and brothers, Edward Glazenski and Stanley Glazenski. John leaves behind his companion of many years Ronald Coles, with whom he resided. John’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Oncology and Associates for their compassion and care during this most difficult time.
