John M. Bakouris, 72 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday morning, August 25, 2021 at Timber Ridge Nursing Home, Plains Township.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of the late Steve and Margaret (Strickler) Bakouris.

John was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and was self-employed as the owner/operator Truck Driver for Penn’s Best Trucking.

Family was everything to John, he loved family vacations, cook outs, and was an avid race car fan and a season ticket holder to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Penguins.

Preceding him in death are his step-daughter Kim Patronick.

Surviving are his Wife of 35 years the former June Mack, Step-sons Joseph Nichols and his wife Yvette, Plains, and Mitchell Bakouris, Texas, step-daughter Sandy Williams, Plains, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, Brother Paul Bakouris and his wife Paula, Kellar, Texas.

Funeral services with Military honors by the United States Air Force will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
