Joan A. Chukinas, 84 of Plains, Twp., passed away Wednesday afternoon April 20, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Elizabeth (Bilski) Kodaski.

Joan was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1949 and was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Church Plains, a former member of SS. Peter & Paul P.T. A. and Finance Committee the Plains Women’s Club, Plains Rotary Ann’s, the PA Association of Realtors, and the PA Insurance Association.

She was preceded in death by her Daughter–in Law Barbara A. Chukinas.

Surviving are her Husband of 63 years Edward L. Chukinas, Sr., Daughter JoAnn M. Chukinas, Plains; Son Edward L. Chukinas, Jr. Plains, Grandchildren Bradley Chukinas, West Pittston and Megan Lynn Chukinas, Plains; Brothers Daniel Kodaski and his Wife Mary, Luzerne and Theodore Kodaski, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Nephews and Nieces.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:30 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church Plains. Father Joseph Greskiewicz Pastor Emeritus will be the Celebrant. Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Plains.
