Featherstone October 20, 1959 - September 22, 2016 Service Date: September 26, 2016 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery St. Mary s Cemetery Church Gate of Heaven James Joseph Featherstone, of Dallas, passed away peacefully, on Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2016 after an extended illness. He was 56. Born and raised in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, he is the son of Edward J. Featherstone and the late Nancy T. (Thomas) Featherstone. Jim was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School and King’s College where he majored in Information Technology and later earned a second degree in Accounting and becoming a Certified Public Accountant. He served as a Eucharistic minister, usher and lector, and avid retreat participant for many years. Having worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot for more than 25 years, he recently retired to help care for his ailing mother. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was especially devoted to his many nieces and nephews. Along with his generous spirit and deep faith, Jim enjoyed reading, roller skating and going out to eat. He happily vacationed on Long Beach Island for more than 40 years. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Robert. Funeral will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 at 9:15 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 South Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Avenue, Dallas, PA with Father Daniel Toomey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.James J. Featherstone
Jim is survived by his father, Edward; his three brothers, Mark (Peggy), Bob (Teresa) and Ned; and his nieces and nephews, Maggie, Tom, Mark, John, Anna, Michael, Danny, Keriann and Andrew; and his loving caretakers.
