Born and raised in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, he is the son of Edward J. Featherstone and the late Nancy T. (Thomas) Featherstone.

Jim was a graduate of James M. He served as a Eucharistic minister, usher and lector, and avid retreat participant for many years.

Having worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot for more than 25 years, he recently retired to help care for his ailing mother.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Robert.
Jim is survived by his father, Edward; his three brothers, Mark (Peggy), Bob (Teresa) and Ned; and his nieces and nephews, Maggie, Tom, Mark, John, Anna, Michael, Danny, Keriann and Andrew; and his loving caretakers.
