Irene C. Pachucki, 84 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday morning, August 1, 2022 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Born July 27, 1938 in Plains Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Catherine (Makiewicz) Kasaba.

Irene was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, and was a homemaker all of her life. A woman of great faith, she was the President of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Boniface Church, Wilkes-Barre, for over 30 years, was the coordinator for various BINGO’s throughout the valley for over 40 years, was a wonderful cook and loved to crochet, where she was awarded multiple awards for her talent. Above all, Irene was devoted to her son Joseph, taking care of his daily needs with love and affection.

She was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church until its closure and currently a member of St. Andrew Parish, both of Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Pachucki, Sr. on November 17, 2010, and her sister Joan Chismar.

Surviving are her sons Donald Pachucki, Jr., and his wife Helen, Pittston Township, and Joseph Pachucki, at home, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother Raymond Kasaba, Plains, sisters Bernadine “Debbie” Hughes and her husband Robert, Duryea, and Jenny Kasaba, Plains, nieces and nephews.

Irene’s family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Matthew Kozicki for the wonderful care and compassion given to Irene.

Funeral will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 at 8:45 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Andrew Parish, 316 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Irene’s family and friends will recite the rosary Thursday evening at 6:45 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allied Services Hospice Center, 200 Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 in Irene’s memory.
