Helen Moritz Sullivan, 93, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday evening, September 12, 2015, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in the Hudson section of Plains Twp., Helen was the twin daughter and eleventh child of the late Louis and Helen (Piszczek) Moritz.

Helen was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School , a homemaker caring for her parents and her family, then employed as a teacher’s aide for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald J. Sullivan on January 11, 2007, by her brothers John Kozik, Dr. Frank Kozik, Dr. Walter Kozik, Dr. Major Kozik, Benjamin Kozik, Edmund Moritz, John Blondek, and her twin, Louis Moritz, Jr. ; by her sisters Theda Cusick, Isabelle Kaye, Louise Molitoris, Mary and Anne Blondek.

Surviving are her daughters Barbara Bruno and her husband Dr. James Bruno, Plains, Dr. Kathleen Sullivan, San Jose, California; grandchildren Emily Bruno, Matthew Bruno and his wife Sarah, Douglas Bruno and his wife Amanda, Laura Bruno and her wife Jessica, and Spencer Sullivan Sauke; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 at 9:30 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church Friday morning. Interment will be held in St. John’s Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705.

Memorial donations may be made in Helen’s name to SS. Peter & Paul Church 13 Hudson Road Plains, PA or to the SPCA of Luzerne County 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
