Obituaries » Gregory M. Mascioni March 12, 1945 - September 28, 2017 Gregory M. Mascioni, “Uncle Greg”, 72 of Jenkins Township, passed away Thursday morning, September 28, 2017 at Maple Crest Care Center, Belvidere, Illinois, after a brief illness with colon cancer. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Franceso & Stella (Yarosavich) Mascioni. Greg attended Elmer L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Uncle Greg loved to listen to his radio, watch TV and swing on the back porch. He was a connoisseur of junk food to include chocolate, soda, hard candy, potato chips and ice cream. He was preceded in death by his brother Frank J. Mascioni on July 20, 2017 and his sister Veronica Mascioni on December 13, 2005. Surviving are his nieces Melissa Ford and her husband Rob, Poplar Grove, Ill., and Tanya Gelb and her husband Charley, Camp Hill, PA, grandnieces and nephews Kaylee, Emma, and JJ Ford, Kayden and Brady Gelb. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:30 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston, PA 18640, with Father Joseph Elston, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston Township.
