Geraldine M. Rogers, 98 of Plains Township, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, June 25, 2020 at Allied Services, Meade Street, SNF, formerly Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Youngblood) Loftus.

Geraldine was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1940, was a homemaker, and employed at Dana Perfume, Mountain Top. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains, until its closure and merger with Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains, the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Auxiliary, and the Women’s Club of Wilkes-Barre.

Gerry loved life and was always smiling. She talked with everyone she encountered, and a new friend was only a conversation away. Her life was devoted to faith and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles H. Rogers on January 11, 2002, grandson Mark Rogers, brothers Francis, Charles, James, and Donald Loftus, sisters Elizabeth and Naomi Loftus, Anna Mae Kendra, and Mary Theresa Cooper, sister-in-law Dorothy Loftus, and brothers-in-law Patrick Kerrigan and Thomas Cooper.

Surviving are her children Dr. John Rogers and his wife Margaret, Plains, Charles Rogers, MS, MA, NHA and his wife Fran, Philadelphia, Atty. Donald Rogers and his wife Terese, Wilkes-Barre, and Atty. Richard Rogers and his wife Sally, Plains, grandchildren Kerry Rogers, Brian Rogers and his wife Brooke, Erin Harris and her husband Corey, Charles Rogers and his wife Adrianna, Atty. Michael Rogers, Kate Rogers, Capt. Donald Rogers, U.S. Army, Sarah Frese and her husband Brandon, and Lauren Norton and her husband Brandon, great-grandchildren Marissa, Jocelyn, George, Samuel, and Maren Rogers, Liam and Nora Harris, and Blakely Mae Norton, granddaughter-in-law, Katie Rogers, sister Catherine Kerrigan, brother-in-law Mickey Kendra, sisters-in-law Helene Loftus, and Judy Loftus, several nieces and nephews.

Geraldine’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Little Flower Manor (Allied Services) for the wonderful care and compassion given to their mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 10:00 am in Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Family and friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains. Due to the ongoing pandemic, restrictions have been put in place by the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Those attending the Funeral Mass and burial, please follow the practice of social distancing and masks are required.
