Gerald J. Ritsick, 86 of Plains Township, passed away Holy Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Brinko) Ritsick.

Gerald attended Sacred Heart High School, Plains, and was founder and President of G. Ritsick and Son, Inc., Plains, for 41 years. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains.

Gerald was an animal lover and loved his two Pugs, Mugsy and Buddy. He coached Plains Little League Baseball and would often be seen running the scoreboard at Saints Peter & Paul “The Saints” basketball games. Gerald was a wonderful man with a huge heart who would often help others he saw in need.

He was preceded in death by his son Gerald D. Ritsick on April 27, 2015, brothers John, George, Joseph and Thomas Ritsick, and his sisters Leona Malloy and Mary Matiko.

Surviving are his wife of 65 ½ years, the former Bernadine Craig, Plains, sons Jeffrey Ritsick and his partner Joyce Lalla, Mark Ritsick and his wife Allison, all of Plains, and Christopher Ritsick and his partner Rochelle Poszeluznyj, Bear Creek, nieces and nephews.

Gerald’s family would like to offer a special thank you to Jackie and Tata for the wonderful care and support given to Gerald and his family during this difficult time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service at church. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Plains, PA 18702 or to Saints Peter & Paul Church Food Pantry, C/O 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705 in Gerald’s memory.
