Andrukiewicz, 86 of Plains Township, passed away Saturday morning, July 9, 2016 at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas. Born in Plains he was the son of the late Frank and Clara (Puk) Andrukiewicz. Frank was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1948 and Scranton University in 1952 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, was employed as a Juvenile Probation Officer for Luzerne County and was an insurance agent for several years until his retirement. He was a member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon, Post 558, and served on the Military Funeral Honor Guard; a 59 year member of the Plains Lions Club, where he served as President from 1969-1970 and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship, which is the highest award in Lionism; The Polish American Veterans, Plains, and SS. Peter & Paul Church, Plains, where he served as an usher for several years. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Geraldine Mayewski on May 9, 1975, infant son Adam, brothers Anthony Andrukiewicz and John Andrews. Surviving are his daughters Susan Noel and her husband Anthony, Plains, Sharon Detwiler and her husband Matthew, Larksville, and Michelle Baranski and her husband Jack, Larksville, grandchildren Michael Noel, Allison and Adam Detwiler, Lance Corporal Christopher Baranski, USMC, and his wife Emily, and Nathan Baranski, several nieces. Funeral will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 9:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment with Military Honors, will be held in the parish cemetery, Plains. Family and friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. The Plains Lion Club will conduct a Necrology Service at 7:00 pm.
