Francis W. “Corky” Corcoran, 77 of Plains Township, passed away Sunday night, March 4, 2018 at Little Flower Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Donald F. and Josephine (Gustave) Corcoran.

Corky was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, class of 1959, and was employed by the Plains Township Fire Department for 34 years, retiring in 2006.  Even after his retirement, Corky was a daily fixture at the firehouse in Plains, where he would go to have coffee with his fellow firefighters.  He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains, until its merger with Saints Peter & Paul Church.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  His happiest moments were spending time with his grandchildren, especially watching his grandsons play baseball.

He was preceded in death by his niece Colleen Kelly and nephew Jack Andrejewski.

Surviving are his daughter Cheryl Lupas and her husband Judge David Lupas, Laflin, grandchildren Kyle, Jacob, Abby, and Gwen Lupas, brothers Donald Corcoran, Harding, Leo Corcoran and his companion Rose Anne Jones, sisters Juliann Andrejewski and her husband Jack, and JoAnn Kelly and her husband Francis, all of Plains, former wife Elaine Corcoran, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA  18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating.  Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains.  Family and friends may call Monday morning from 8:30 am till the time of Mass at church.  Arrangements by the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
